An Indonesian football player has died after being struck by lightning in the middle of a friendly match.
Sebtian Raharja, a 35-year-old who plays for Football Boots Indonesia (FBI) Subang, was walking across the field when a bright flash of lightning fatally struck him mid-game on Saturday.
Footage of the incident showed the moment he was struck before he collapsed to the turf, which prompted his teammates to quickly pause the game and rush over to him.
He was rushed to the Sariningsih Hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to local news reports.
The fatal incident took place during a friendly match between 2 FLO FC Bandung and FBI Subang, the team of the deceased athlete, at the Siliwangi Stadium in Bandung, local outlet PFRM reported.
