Are your wardrobes bursting at the seams? Need a declutter or some extra cash? Selling your pre-loved clothing and other items online might just be the solution you’re looking for.
And a savvy Vinted seller has revealed her secrets to success, boasting daily earnings of £80 with minimal effort.
While eBay, Depop, and Facebook Marketplace have long been staples for offloading unwanted goods, Vinted has surged in popularity as a top app for selling items online, reports the Mirror.
Berkshire-based seller Frankie has mastered the art of selling on Vinted, keeping her home and wardrobe in check while pocketing money every single day. She manages to sell about six items weekly and is now divulging her best practices for thriving on Vinted.
Frankie’s key insight is that Vinted isn’t just for clothes; it’s a marketplace for toys, furniture, games, and more. “Don’t limit yourself to clothes and accessories – you can sell homeware on Vinted,” she advises.
She also notes that weekends, especially Sundays, see heightened activity on the Vinted app, making them prime times for sales. For weekday listings, Frankie recommends posting in the evening when potential buyers are likely browsing on their phones.
The seller emphasises the importance of leaving “some wiggle room” for offers, stating: “So when someone likes your item, you can give them an offer. If I like an item and someone sends me an offer, that has pushed me to buy it before.”
She also highlights the advantage of having “always have bundle deals turned on” for Vinted sellers looking to increase their sales. Frankie mentioned: “If someone selling something for a reasonable price, I will often click on their profile and look at what else they are selling, and if they’ve got bundle deals on I’m more likely to buy multiple things from them.”
Frankie further recommends that sellers should wash items before taking photos and “especially” before sending them out. For optimal photographs, she suggests using a blank wall and natural light.
On the topic of mailing, the seller remarked: “When it comes to packaging, I’m not saying you have to go out and buy mailer bags – I don’t mind when someone uses like a carrier bag to send the stuff in – but I think the issue comes when people are sending stuff that isn’t clear or isn’t secure.”
Frankie added that she purchases mailing bags in bulk from Amazon and eBay, which saves her the hassle of worrying about packaging each time she makes a sale.
