Octopus Energy customers earning points in the ‘Octoplus’ reward scheme can now claim prizes through the provider’s newly announced big brand partners.
Over a million Octopus customers have already joined ‘Octoplus.’ Those who cut their usage during high-demand periods or maintain a healthy energy account by checking meter readings and spinning the ‘wheel of fortune’ can earn ‘Octopoints.’
These points can now be exchanged for complimentary hot drinks, cinema tickets, or day passes to the National Trust and National Trust for Scotland.
Rebecca Dibb-Simkin, chief product and marketing officer at Octopus Energy Group, commented: “Admittedly, submitting meter readings and keeping tabs on your energy account isn’t the most thrilling activity for everyone.
“That’s why we’ve designed ‘Octoplus’ – to make mundane energy tasks fun.”
The following brands have joined forces with Octopus Energy to bring offers that will be available for customers in the ‘Octoplus’ section of their app and online dashboard:
Ms Dibb-Simkin added: “Our customers are already getting paid for shifting their energy usage during grid stress, and now they can even get free drinks and cinema tickets on top.”
“We’re chuffed to welcome epic brands such as Greggs, ODEON and both the National Trust and the National Trust for Scotland to the scheme, offering additional perks for our green-minded customers.
“But we won’t stop here, so watch this space.”
To be eligible for Octoplus, customers have to receive electricity from Octopus Energy, have an operational electric smart meter (i.e. receiving half-hourly readings from it) and pay via Direct Debit. Business customers and smart prepayment customers can also join ‘Octoplus’.
Eligible customers can sign up via the banner in their online accounts or the app.
To redeem the offers, customers need to navigate to the ‘Octoplus’ section of the Octopus Energy app or dashboard, where users can view available offers and check their Octopoint balance.
Customers can then use the provided code in-store or online to unlock the exclusive benefits.
